Bernina 1130 machine

by Susan
(Florida)

My Mother gave me her Bernina 1130 probably 20 some odd years ago. I have made maternity clothes, nursery decorations, window treatments, clothes...

It has been through it all and grown up with me. Sadly it has ceased working! I am lost to try to find something that compares.

It has been a wonderful machine. I have acquired so many accessories for embroidery and sewing from my Mother.

It is a shame. The Bernina 1130 is and was an absolutely wonderful sewing machine!

Worth getting a repair!
by: Anonymous

Susan, you have a great machine that brings in top dollar in good, used condition, why don't you have it repaired? Parts are available for even the oldest Berninas.
Our local Bernina dealer will even take a broken machine in trade towards a new machine, as he can fix it or use it for parts.

My Bernina 1130 never skipped a stitch
by: Joan W.

I bought my wonderful Bernina 1130 in 1986. I plan on taking her to my grave! I've had an alteration business in CA and that dear machine was certainly a perfect workhorse, for the
every-day heavy usage. She has never, ever skipped a stitch and has been a faithful friend that has worked hard for all these years. 23 years and still perfect.

There is no way whatsoever that would tempt me to either sell or trade her in. The first attraction for me was the knee-lift, since I already had industrial machine experience. That feature is providing very efficient functions, since the hands never have to leave the fabric being sewn.

And, that tornado speed plus perfect stitches endeared me to the machine from the very beginning.

Thank you, Bernina developers and producers!
