bernina 185

by susan

I have a Bernina 185 sewing machine that has a ghost in it! I'll be sewing for a while and then it stops all of a sudden.

No matter what I am sewing on or what cord or foot control I use it always does the same. I even have moved the machine to a new location with a totally different outlet thinking it must be the electrical outlet.

Still did the same thing - stops in the middle of sewing a seam or whatever. I took it in to the Bernina authorized repair shop and they couldn't find anything wrong!

Has anyone ever had this problem and if so what was the solution? Other than buying a new machine!!! Thanks!

Hi
Does your machine do this all the time?
Maybe when you find it is doing it Shut the machine down and restart it I think its like a computer and needs to be rebooting .
Let me know how you make out.

This was happening to my 630E

I took it in to the dealer and he told me a circuit board was going out. He said that this rarely happens. Your description of the problem you have been sounds like what my machines was doing. Take the machine back to your dealer and ask them to check the circuit boards.

Bernina 185 and 730
by: Jan

I have sewn on Bernina machines for 40 years.. I love them. I bought a Bernina 185 in 2005. It was not top of the line, but I love it and use it daily. It sews wonderfully and embroideries great.

I have compared it to another cheaper brand, and the sewing quality was far superior. I used a Bernina 730 for several months and loved it. Color screen is a bonus, but not necessary. The USB is a plus.

I do have the software for designing my designs. Expensive, but so are other programs on the market. Mine does everything I have wanted. I would buy another Bernina when the time arises. Rate it a 100+.
