Brother galaxie 2000

by GWEN
(Tamworth, NSW, Australia)

The Brother galaxie 2000 is the worst sewing machine of my life. It cost over $AUD4000 initially. I have spent over $AUD1500 on repairs and it is still a shocker. I previously have owned a Singer, an Elna and a Janome.

Not only does the Brother constantly break threads it is unreliable, difficult to thread, has needed 2 new computer boards, always just after the previous on runs out of warranty.

Dealers are hopeless at repairing this machine so I took it back to the factory in Sydney this last time and what happens when I go to use it today? It is driving me to despair by breaking threads all the time.

so sorry to hear about your machine. some machines are only fit for the bin from the off. try your trading standards and ask them to help you if you have had problems from the off with it, it will be classed as faulty goods and you should be able to claim your money back. after all you have persivered with this junk from the off and they still can't repair it. you might have to go to small claims court aswell. better that than losing all your money. don't let them get away with this. there are organisations out there to help you. good luck kind regards helena

I have had this machine for 15 years and never a problem. I am a dressmaker and it has had a lot of work over the years. It has been the best machine that I have owned. They dont like being moved about and must be on a stable surface when embroidering.
My sister had a lot of trouble with hers because she is not a dressmaker and doesnt know how to look after it. She only does embroidery.
