Brother LS-1217 sewing machine

I have had my Brother LS-1217 sewing machine for 15 years now and it is simple to work. I am having trouble with the thread breaking constantly and I want a manual or someone to tell me what is wrong.

I thought it was old thread, No that wasn't it. I have moved the tension from 0-9 and can't make it any better.

hiya, try cleaning the tension discs and bobbin area. it might need some attention around the bobbin area as this will cause snappage. get a mechanic to service it. good luck helena

I received the Brother LS 1217 sewing machine as a gift in high school. It has been at least seven years. As a beginner aspiring to move farther up the food chain,

I have to say that this machine has been wonderful. Denim? No problem. Cotton, multiple layers, satin? No problem. The light is fantastic and I move my machine around often.

As I learn and become more experienced I find I would like more options, but this is a great machine for the beginner or occasional sewer.
