Brother LX3125 machine

by Erila
(VA)

The Brother LX3125 sewing machine is great for the beginner and simple sewing, but not quilting. I've snapped so many sewing needles because I was trying to feed to much fabric ie 6 pieces of fabric under the presser foot.

What's MOST ANNOYING is my thread is always getting caught under the spool holder while I'm sewing, breaking the thread because I'm not watching.

IF YOU SEW A LOT, IT'LL LAST A YEAR.

help is out there
by: helena llewellyn south wales uk

hiya, try the spool lying on its side with a thread net and it won't catch around the bottom. certainly don't try and send too bulky a fabric through it as this will result in it packing up all together, cos that is like trying to put a housebrick through a clothes mangle. the reason why this machine is knackered is because it has been seriously mistreated by you. are you a new machinist. if so there is plenty of help with tips and how to do all you have to do is ask and we will supply information as best we can. use a bit of common sense and everything will be fine. i'm not having a dig i'm just trying to enlighten you and save you a lot of money on repairs. regards helena

not sure what's wrong here
by: Anonymous

just recently my machine has started skipping stitches. that is the only way i can describe it. there is a jumping sound (i seriously thought something had broken the first time i heard it) and when i take the fabric off there is thread all bunched up on the bottom of the fabric.
and also, the top thread is constantly falling under the spool causing it to break. i dont have a sideways option for my spool-how would that work?
i am not a novice seamstress but i confess that i don't understand the machine all that well. i have tried to take good care of it. i oil it and clean it and try not to put too much fabric through- mostly just 2-3 layers of clothing fabric. i change my needle according to the fabric, though sometimes i am not sure what size is truly best.
anyway. any thoughts on my problem would be appreciated
