Brother PC3000 machine

by Sandy
(Phoenix, Az. USA)

I have used my Brother PC3000 sewing machine approximately 10 hours since it was purchased 6 years ago. Now the electronic touch pad doesn't work.

The estimate to fix it was $350.00 - $400.00 by an authorized Brother repair center. This is terrible since the machine cost $499.00 new. I am now sewing on my 47 year old Singer touch n sew without a problem.

I am very disillusioned that Brother customer services attitude is, "well, sometime electronics go out". Granted, however, if a home sewing machine won't last better than this ---public beware!!!

hi, the problem seems to be with machines at the lower end of the price range is that the parts that have to be renewed cost a lot more than the actual machine itself. I think it's a con personally, and have learned that if you want a good tool you must spend serious money and get one with a long warranty covering everything, especially the computer parts as these are really expensive when they play up. It is worth it in the long run to buy a more expensive machine. I saved for 3 years to buy mine. Have you looked on ebay for a replacement part. Sometimes you can get stuff a lot cheaper there, that's what i always do. regards helena.

I have had my pc 3000 for 8 years or so. never had a problem.. I feel cheated though because I paid a lot more than 500 bucks for mine. threw 4 children, and hundreds of hours it keeps on going. Sorry to hear yours didnt make the grade :(
