Husqvarna Viking Interlude 435

by Eileen Allen
(West Hills, CA, USA)

My husband bought me the Husqvarna Viking Interlude 435 sewing machine, because he wanted me to have the best. Unfortunately, it has been a nightmare. I don't know how many times I have attempted to have the machine fixed.

There is obviously something wrong with the engineering of the machine that causes a constant problem with the tension. Everytime I have used it the Interlude 435 leaves huge gobs of thread on the bottom side of the thing I am trying to sew.

I brought it in to be fixed and I picked it up a week later. Only, too have the same problem as soon as I got it home. As I have said this has happened time after time. Needless, to say it now sits in it's box where it shall remain.

Sincerely,

Eileen Allen

Viking Repairs
by: Don Brillhart

This reminds me very much of my problems with Viking. If you have been using your Viking dealer for repairs, STOP! Ask around about other repairmen and give one of them a try. The Viking dealer wants to sell new machines, not do repairs. Been there, done that. My local Bernina dealer fixed my wife's Viking just fine after months of being screwed over by the Viking Dealer.

hiya, don't you have a warranty on it? surely you can get a replacement machine if it has a continuous fault that can't be repaired. i did with my pfaff 2170. it's no good being too soft and letting these people walk all over you. stand up and say what you think. get on to them again and insist that the machine is replaced if you still have warranty on the machine. that's what it's there for. if not try another mechanic. good luck regards helena

Viking repairs
by: Lynn Cranmer

I think anyone who has the newer Vikings should contact Viking Husqvarna. The repair and sales shops have been no help. I think Viking should be aware of people like me, that have been a Viking user for 40 years. The 7 I have had have been great....except my new one! They seem to be of inferior quality. Lynn

Interlude 435 Lemon
by: Anonymous

I think it is a shame the problems with the 435 were not addressed and fixed being it surely seems to be a lemon. I have an Interlude 445 not a 435 and I have never ever had a problem with tension in the years that I have owned it. The 445 does have the sewing advisor however that I don't think the 435 has.
The Interludes are discontinued models and were disontinued about the time the Viking Platinum models came out and the Interlude models are very much like the Platinum models which are highly rated machines. I do hope your machine can be fixed so that you can enjoy your Interlude as I enjoy mine.

i have a platinum 770 and nearly 12 years on it has developed it's first fault and the bobbin won't wind. i have used and used it and i love it to bits. wouldn't buy one now though they are not made the same as the old ones.

Not impressed with 435
by: Anonymous

I don't think I would purchase another Husqvarna. I really want my old Singer back, when i pushed the reverse button on that I knew it was engaged and would stay that way until I removed my finger. The reverse button on the 435 is so touchy if you don't push it exactly in the tiny dot in the center of the button it doesn't stay engaged. I can't count the number of button holes I have removed and resown because the same button doesn't always respond and advance to the next step and then it jumps two steps at a time. I have to do a lot of button holes today and i'm frustrated after the first two.
