Husqvarna Viking Platinum Plus

by Dorothy
(Australia)

The Husqvarna Viking Platinum Plus was the second embroidery machine I purchased from this reputable firm. We have very good dealers and excellant service from this company.

In purchasing a new machine I feel it is very important to check the back-up service just in case you get problems with your new machine later on down the track. You don't want to have your new machine in the 'workshop' more than on your sewing table now do you? So buy the best you can afford.

The Platinum Plus is a very user friendly machine and I have not heard any bad reports about them. The stitches are very good and the machine just purrs along with very few thread breaks.

Now on this subject you have to use a good quality thread otherwise there is a lot of lint cleaning when you finish your project.

The needle plate can easily be lifted to clean the fluff and the bobbin case can be removed to brush out any lint that has gathered. A small drop of oil applied regularly will ensure you a happy sewing session.

When the embroidery attachment is added to the machine a whole new world is awaiting you. The quality of the embroideries is excellent.

The designs are sent to the machine via a reader /writer which places your designs ( several) depending on the stitch count of each design. The D-Card is placed into the side slot of the machine and away you go. Embroidering is a great pleasure with this easy to configure machine.

I purchased the Husqvarna Viking Platinum Plus machine 5 years ago and apart from regular servicing I have had no mechanical problems what so ever.

I recommend this machine to anyone who would like to have an embroidery machine that is easy to operate.

Viking Platinum Plus
by: Bette

I use Viking Platinum Plus for quilt making and apparel sewing. It came with an embroidery arm and I would like to use it. There were also two "d" cards but I am at a loss as to how they work. I have followed the instructions in the manual but I still can't get them to work.

I understand that perhaps I need a "box" or "reader" but I am unclear as to what to get or what it will do and what my machine should do without any additionally purchased products.

I am at the point as to whether I should invest in a different type of machine if I want to do embroidery since embroidery machines have advanced a great deal since the introduction of the Platinum Plus.
