Husqvarna Viking S225

by Mary Buehmann
(Brighton Michigan)

I'll never buy a Viking again! I had always been very happy with my S225 and recommended Vikings as "the only machine to buy," but I have to remove my recommendation.

Service has always been sluggish, and customer service never their strong point, but the machine's reliability outweighed this until now.

I took my Husqvarna Viking S225 sewing machine in to be cleaned. The service person found that a warranty part needed to be replaced. He placed the order for the part more than 6 weeks ago, and there is still no indication that the part will ship.

I tried to contact Viking Customer Service by phone--not my job, but obviously no one else was going to do it--and never was able to contact anyone by phone. The call was cut off before one could even leave a message, despite numerous attempts.

So I emailed the company with my request for customer service. I was careful to keep my email civil, though by this point I was getting upset.

The only response I received--more than a week ago--was an automatic email telling me my communication had been received, and that they would respond to my communication in the order it had been received. I have received no other communication from Viking.

So I returned to the local shop and attempted to get them to actually perform customer service. After several hours the local shop called back to say that they didn't have any news.

The lack of customer service at any level, and the lack of response to emails on a timely basis signals a company that does not value their customers, at best, and, at worst, is perhaps going out of business. No one at any time tried in any way to make me a happy customer.

There are lots of other quality dependable sewing machines out there. I'm going to buy one this week. It will not be a Viking.

DON'T BUY HUSQVARNA
by: Anonymous

This customer knows what she is talking about. This is a foreign company and you can expect anything but good service from them. You are on your own when you buy from Husqvarna..sewing machines, garden equipment, etc. Stay away from that name. I'll bet my comment does not get posted.

NOT HAPPY EITHER
by: Joy but not joyful

I bought a HV 18x8 Mega Quilter. Big mistake. I too had poor customer service. After several attempts to get some help, the machine completely froze up. We had to pay the service guy to come to my house to say yes, it was a manufacturers defect. So, I received the second HV 18x8. It only took the second machine 2 months (only 3 quilts) to freeze up. Yes, I followed all instructions on how to maintain and oil my machine. I did it religiously. Ok so now I am on my 3rd HV 18x8. It hasn't frozen up yet but it has given me nothing but trouble. The wireing for the stitch regulators was poorly made. Their warning was to be careful with it. I WAS SO CAREFUL. Of course these are not covered under the warranty. The wires aren't even plastic coated where it connects to the plug. I still can't get any help. I ordered 2 extra cables from the local store because I know it will continue to happen no matter how careful I am. The cables move with the machine they are bound to get pulled. It will probably cost me a fortune for these two cords. So, my word to you all is: DON'T BUY A HUSQVARNA VIKING 18X8 unless you want alot of headaches.

Not reviewing just wondering if anyone would have a 1001L serger that they would sell for a part that I need that is no longer available.
