Janome 11000 Special Edition

by Virginia
(Ocala, FL)

I have had the Janome 11000 SE for almost a year and it was the best investment we ever made. I have been sewing and embroidering for about 10 years and have recently gotten into quilting and the ACU-Quilt program that is built into the Special Edition is awesom.

I also have the Ditigizer-Pro/MB softare and this software expands the Acu-fil Program even more and allows you to create stippling in all hoops.

The Janome 11000 is not difficult to use as all new machines it takes a little time to learn but once you start playing it all comes together.

LOVE THIS MACHINE! Very user friendly!

New buyer reviews on Janome MC 11000 special edition
by: catmom313

I am new and in the process of buying my very first computerized sewing and embroidery machine. I test drove a MC 11000 the other day. I was not impressed with the screen. Even when it was the brightest is was hard to see in a bright room. I thought the last step to threading was hard to get the last grove #4 before you thread the needle. Even a person that is experienced on this machine it broke the thread while using the automatic threader feature 3 times. If you don't get it thread right I can see it being a problem with threads. This was an experienced person using this machine assisting me with threading for my test drive. One thing I did notice in my test drive is that the embroidery foot it's hard to get your thread out of the way and when you start embroidering again after changing threads I had trouble with looping issues at the start of the embroidering after each color change. It did embroidery nice after the design was finished. Maybe everyone's areas are different but my local Janome dealers don't seem to want to make a sale. They don't seem to know much about their machines, pricing and willing to work with me to make a deal. I felt I wasted my time to visit my local dealer and walked out with not accurate pricing and if there could be any bundle packages in the near future on this MC11000 special edition. The only quote they could give me was the machine goes for 8,000 round numbers. On Sale for 4,600 and they could not tell me what was all included in the price and if I get the digitizing software with the machine? I have a 30 year old New Home machine the company that was before Janome bought the company. I wanted to support a USA company but they are behind on customer sales, support, repair and the dealer I went to would not offer me free classes for buying a top of the line machine. I spend that much I should get some quirks for buying their machine? What are some people's view points on customer relations with their Janome dealer? To me that is much importance as the quality of the machine. I have brother dealer that is treating much better for a new buyer already have been invited to free classes to get info on the line of machines that I am interested in including Bernina and Viking machines. More chances I am leading to the other 3 machine maker as a first time buyer of a computerized sewing and embroidery and hopefully a machine that can do machine quilting also. I have heard others not getting good service with their Janome dealers and they seem to be behind on software issues? I like feed back from other Janome owners that have machines that require software issues and updates?

Janome 11000
by: vicki

I love my Janome 11000! I bought it 4.5 years ago along with Digitizer Pro. I have purchased both upgrades for the machine, which were quite pricey, but I do use the new functions of the machine quilting my quilts. It takes a long time, but it certainly looks better than anything I could ever do! I like my machine so much that my girlfriend bought one too! I wish the machine had a stitch regulator (like long arms have) for quilting...

Janome 11000 SE
by: Ann Chafin

I have had my Janome 11000 upgraded to SE since shortly after it came out. I have ruined 5 bobbin cases since I bought it and the issue is still not completely resolved. This seems to be a weak point with the machine. I love the way it embroiders (when it is embroidering), but there are times I wish I had purchased another brand machine.

Nothing but problems - buyer beware - get a Brother and save your marriage. Bobbin casing is a completely miserable design.

Bobbin trouble
by: Louann

Hi, I love this machine. But I had some trouble with the bobbin case being ruined. I have ruined 2 cases and almost ruined the 3rd. But I found the answer on another site. Be sure the machine is threaded exactly as the book says to do it. The reason I say 'exactly' is because the first instruction is to hold the thread with both hands while going around the first place the thread goes. There is a little, or should be, snap of the thread or click... you must hear that, then go on and also be sure the thread goes in the uptake slot too. Your machine should then sew like the DREAM it is!!

Janome 11000SE
by: Donna

I have used a Janome 10000 plus for 5 years and loved every thing about it, but decided to upgrade for all the wonderful features of the 11000 SE. Was I in for a shock. First let me say the machine is great with the features it has but the firmware in the machine is not working properly.

If your embroidery design calls for 2 or more of one color right next to each other such as light brown, med brown and dark brown the machine will not recognize all three it will only stitch the first brown. Even if you have a different number for the brown shades.

You have to go to your pc and change the NAMES to a different color to get it to recognize the stitches. I have spoken with Janome and they keep saying it is a design problem. If that is
true why didn't I have a problem with the same design in my Janome 10000 plus?

You will need to use a color sort program or design software to change the color names and then use the correct thread when the design comes up. Has any one else had this problem?

I have checked this out on several machines and they all have this problem.

Janome memory craft 1100
by: ljg

When it works it works great...There are alot of incompatibility issues with software...even the cd's which are in JEF format don't open on the Janome CD rom...unfortunately you don't know which ones work until you have purchased it and cannot return after it is opened. If you have a digitizer you can do the transfers but that take a computer as well.

The biggest problem I have had is the bobbin case...plastic and does not stay in position well. It slips causing a jam, the needle penetrates the case and I have to purchase a new one. I have had it to the store where I purchased it multiple times for this issue as well as contacting Janome directly. There was no concern for this know issue.

Janome 11000 problems
by: Marianne

I am having a very difficult time with the bobbin case holder. When I do embroidery it seems the bobbin case pops up and ruins the holder plus the needle. I have had this machine for 6 months and went through 5 bobbin cases. What is wrong with this picture?

I do not recommend this machine to any one! And yes I had the dealer check it, and tells me there is nothing wrong.
