Advantages of the Janome 4800 QC
You will surely feel you got yourself a good deal with every purchase of a Janome 4800 because of these advantages:1. Computerized Embroidery Machine.
It is considered to be the cutting edge of sewing technology, which makes professionally looking embroidery. It is a great machine for clothing, embroidering, quilting and labeling. Its LCD display indicates the correct needle positions, stitch length and width and proper accessory foot to use and the exact pressure.
2. Four Mode selections of Embroidery Stitches.
The following stitches are available:
- Direct Mode Stitches, which includes the stitches that are most often used;
- Mode 2 Stitches, which includes stitches 1-99 pressing the numeric entries;
- Mode 3 Stitches, which includes the block letter style in upper and lower cases; and
- Mode 4 Stitches, which includes the script letter styles in its upper and lower cases
Janome MC4800 has three memory banks that allow the storage of up to 50 stitches in each data bank.
4. Adjustment of Stitch Length.
Elongation of selected stitches up to 5 times their original lengths.
Disadvantage of the Janome 4800 QC
Be aware of this disadvantage when you intend to buy yourself a Janome 4800:1. Unclear Font.
The lettering on the Janome MC4800 may not be the clearest, especially the script ones. However, this proves a minor problem as when you try to stabilize the interface, it makes the letters clearer. A top stitch needle and a contrasting thread would also highlight the letters on the script.
Consumer Review
I wrote down a list of stuff I found essential in a machine--definite necessities in the machine, functions I would like but wouldn't mind if it didn't have it, and also, stuff that I did not want in a machine.
I wanted basic stitching functions with power. I thought the decorative stitches offered on the 4800QC were beautiful. (So far, I've only used them for crazy-patch quilting.) The Janome 4800 QC matched my needs.
The hard slip-over cover is convenient, as you don't have to actually lift the machine out of it. The long handle seems to be easier to manage, too. So far, so good! -Geena
