Janome 6500 pro
After seeing the Janome 6500 pro sewing machine in a quilting class a few years ago, and having my good old Viking 400 get hit by lightening--I felt compelled to buy this machine.
It is the best sewing machine I have ever owned. The bigger bed is great for free motion quilting--it came with all the feet I'll ever need.
Although I just mostly piece and quilt on it--I still try different decorative stitches on it--and they are really pretty and easy to use.
I love the automatic thread cutter and speed control too. The owner's manual is easy to read and works great. Here are the other machines I currently own:
Bernina 180
Bernina serger
Elna Grasshopper (1951)
Wilcox & gibbs hand crank (1876)
Singer treadle (1939)
Wheeler and Wilson (?? mid 1800s?)
But I like my Janome 6500 best!

ps. I'm the one in the apron. We made these squares for our guild's opportunity quilt.
My daughter painted my quilting studio yellow and my husband bought the paint for my Christmas present last year. I love it I can look out the window while I sew on my Janome. :)
