Janome 8077

by Linda
(Green Valley, AZ)

I bought the Janome 8077 sewing machine at Hancock Fabrics for $249 on sale. It is a fairly heavy machine that doesn't move when sewing at top speed. It is quiet and sounds like a quality machine.

For the small price, it has some very nice features. I like the feature of not having to use the foot control; ability to automatically position the needle in the up or down mode; the electronic stitch selections.

I haven't mastered the automatic needle threader - it is still faster for me to thread the needle. There is a 25yr warranty on the workmanship and one year warranty on electronic parts.

The stitches are just okay - probably not the quality of a high-end machine. If one is to use this machine for mending, crafts, etc. it will do the job.

If you want a straight quilt stitch, I think you will be disappointed. All in all, for the money the Janome 8077 is a decent machine.
