Janome Magnolia 7318

by Cheryl
(MS)

While my Janome Magnolia 7318 sewing machine doesn't have a lot of bell and whistles it does have something that I need. It has power to machine quilt. The Janome Magnolia 7318 is a manual machine but it serves me well.

Since this the third Janome I have owned I have to say that out of all the sewing machines that I have sewn on janome ranks up there. Of course Bernina has to always rank up there at the top because of the machine quality. However it gets an F on the cost of feet and the bad support I got from the seller. Janome gets an A here.

I ordered from the internet but as it is a straight forward machine I need no support. Over the years I have seen the problems that exist with these "sewing computers". The computer biz runs at the speed of light. You blink and your 2000 dollar machine is obsolete and there you are.

Sitting among your stash with nothing but a needle and thread a broken heart and the itch to quilt. Of course there is always grandma's old class 15. You are stuck with a straight stitch but at least you can always sew.

Machines like the Janome Magnolia 7318 may not be sophisticated but at least you don't have to worry about it not having the tech support that we plan our life around.

I have seen three major machine companies slip away over the last several years. Singer was the first. The last decent Singer I bought was in 1984. Then Pfaff and finally Viking. The same people run all three companies. They all three now are being made with cheap material and substandard workmanship. Heart breaking to us old folks that grew up with the Singer.

For now I will stick to the Janome brand. I enjoy my little brother but my main machine will be the Janome. I intend to buy one of these little machines for my granddaughter. It ain't fancy but she sews and she sews well.
