Janome MB-4

by ANNA MAY
(ODESSA, TX)

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE JANOME MB-4 MACHINE AT ALL. YOU ARE CONSTANTLY RETHREADING IT.

AND THE STITCHING LOOK CHEAP ON ANY FONT OTHER THAN TYPEST OR BRUSH.

I SPENT AN EXTRA $500.00 TO UPDATE IT, FOR THE FONTS TO LOOK BETTER, I AM STILL NOT SATISFIED.

Breaking threads
by: Linda Huegel

I love my MB-4 it is a real work horse. I had a lot of problems with thread breaking and then started using the nets and it totally stopped the threads from breaking. It does not like Sulky thread. They tend to fray and make a mess.
I would recommend the MB-4 to anyone. It has a lot of features that you learn over time, I think it is a great machine.

Have had many problems with MB-4
by: Mcleve

I have had the MB-4 for about 3 years. I have always had one problem or another, especially with needle 1. I am disappointed that I cannot step away from the machine to embroider a complete design without it messing up, looking terrible on the underside, or tearing a hole in the fabric because the it did not cut the thread properly before going on. There were many times however that it did perfectly and the end product was wonderful! I am just disappointed at the amount I have spent and feel I will never get the return on investment. Especially with how many times I've had to replace shirts, etc. with the machine not working properly.

Breaking thread
by: Anonymous

I have had my MB-4 for 6 months, I like everything about it except that the thread breaks at least 15 times per design. I have yet to stitch out a whole design with out re threading. Please can anyone help? I have changed needles, thread, cleaned and oiled it etc. Even the dealer says I should be able to use any thread and not have breakage.

To Anonymous-Needing Help
by: Mary G

Go to the Janome site...there are tons of lessons you can view and download to help you learn your machine. This is the easiest machine to use. If you have the remote screen it works just like your computer. Hook it to your computer and send your designs straight to it or save from your software to a card or jumb drive and plug it into your screen. The on screen prompts tell what to do or peep if it's an illegal action. Use your manual....it full of easy to follow instruction..highlight in it. It's yours, make it useful to you. (I like you bought my first Janome in an area where noone know how to usethe machine so I had to learn by the seat of my pants, then went in to the store and taught others how to use it.) Good luch and have fun.

Janome MB4
by: Mary G

I have had my MB4 since they came out and love it. It works great all of the stitching is even and looks very nice. I've had no complaints about any of my work; in fact I get raves about how professional it looks. (I do take very good care of my machine, keeping it cleaned and oiled in between it's scheduled check us.) This is the first time I've paid for a cleaning/check up in all the years I've had it.Also, keep it updated by going to the web site and downloading updates for machine and software.

Would Not Recomend
by: Jo Starr

I have this machine in the shop more than any of my others. I have spent 487.00 on it to update and other issues. I have found out that the dealer that I bought this from won't take it as a trade in, lied about the warranty, and many more problems. Just shows that the crap they make they don't stand behind and you don't get the professional stitching as they show. Nothing more than a pain in the booty.

Font Help
by: Anonymous

I recently purchases an MB-4 with the Digitizer MB software and my true type fonts are not digitizing properly. On most of the fonts the satin fill is completely horizontal instead of following the lines of the letter. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the thread more directional?

Janome MB-4
by: Helen

I would recommend the Janome MB-4 sewing machine to any avid embroiderer. I did own another brand of machine prior to this that was very finicky and kept breaking down.

The Janome MB-4 machine is very easy to use with the help of the manual. The 4 needles are a great and amazing part of the MB-4. I am able to use many types of thread, change the speed according to the type of designs I want to stitchout.

The quality of the embroidered designs when stitched out are of an amazing quality. Being able to edit the designs on the screen is a bonus. I am able to fill my frame with many designs to stitch out with the added screen.

The features included in this machine combine to make an affordable, workable easy machine to use. Would like to see a warning when the bobbin runs out or for the machine to stop sewing when it happens. Other than that I love my machine and would most definitely recommend it to others.

MB-4 Someone HELP ME!
by: Anonymous

I have had my MB-4 for about 2 years and still do not know how to use it. The store I b ought it from said they would give me lessons, but after I bought it & tried to schedule, they said they did not have anyone at the store who really knew how to use it!!!
So FRUSTRATING. It has been sitting upstairs in my sewing room unused. Where do I go for lessons?? I now have a new grandbaby & dying to have some fun w/it.

I have had my MB4 "workhorse" for three years. I have embroidered very heavy duty duffle bags to silk scarfs without any problems.
