Janome Memory Craft 7000

I bought my Janome Memory Craft 7000 sewing machine used in 1992 and haven't had any troubles with it - at all! It has been a wonderful machine, but I have recently started to look at the new Bernina's and Janome's, but the sticker shock has held me back from going forward.

And, the fact that the reviews for the Bernina 8 series have been so terrible. I want to look at quality machines that will sew clothing, do home deco sewing, and embroidery.

I am I asking too much of one machine? I would be interested in hearing people's review of the Janome Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition and the Horizon 7700 and the Bernina's below the 8 series.

Or, if you have found another sewing machine that is worth a look, I would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Hi
I have had the Bernina 830 for some time now and I love sewing on the machine. I does everything I want and much much more. I would purchase another one in a hearbeat.

Confused
by: Anonymous

I purchased the Janome Horizon a few weeks ago, It has been returned to the quilt shop two times--tomorrow will be the third.
I have a chance to trade it in on a Bernina 440. The first machine had feet and parts missing. The fabric kept getting caught in the feed dogs, The second began making motor noises about 20 minutes after beginning and finally the stitch was affected. I found it to be very discouraging. The company will replace this machine with a new one or give me a credit towards a Bernina 440. What on earth should I do? This is far worse than purchasing a car!!

Janome is the top
by: Anonymous

I too am looking to upgrade I have the now defunct Janome MC 5700.
The price of new machines is a BIG stumbling block so i went to see a Janome Rep at a show.
I spent yime on both the MC1000 SE and the Horizon.

1 The MC 1000 SE is wonderful and if you want to machine quilt a 10ft by 10ft quilt aoutomatically then this is for you along with embroidery and excellrnt general sewing.

however
2 if you want to sew and embroider then you could consider having 2 machines for this i would consider the horizon and the mc350 this is less than the cost of the mc11000 and allows for sewing and embrodery at the same time. However you do lack some of the applications.

So therefore my advice is go and see a Janome Rep at a show and talk over your soecific requirements and go from there. and i will always buy Janome,

Can't go wrong with another Janome
by: sew tech

The 7700 is an excellent machine. It is the only other quilt machine that has a built in walking foot other then Pfaff. If you want embroidery and don't want to spend an arm and leg then look at the Pfaff Creative 4.0. About half the cost of the Pfaff creative 5.5 top end. Very nice machine.
