janome memory craft 9000

I love the Janome memory craft 9000 sewing machine. My only problem w/it is the small area to embroider. The built in functions are a breeze to work with.

Just would rather have a larger embroider area. Thus I'm looking for an embroidery machine. I rate it 9 out of 10.

Will not sew, will not embroider
by: Kelly

I got the MC9000 after my mother-in-law died. She had been having problems and it appears she had apparently given up on getting it fixed. I agree, because it seems so finicky with tension and the bobbin always seems to ball up.

Embroidery is aggravating, because it will constantly break threads to the point where a 20 minute job can take 4 hours or more... if it even finishes. Sewing isn't much better... it seems to hit the bobbin case with the needle a lot! I think I found out that the Hook stopper part number: 627567001 called the "bobbin holder stopper unit" in the service manual, might be causing this issue. ($5 at Sears Parts)

I clean it and try everything I can imagine or read about. The guy who serviced it charged a lot and it didn't completely fix it for a very long time.

Janome Memory Craft 9000
by: Luann

I purchased the Janome Memory Craft 9000 sewing machine online as a discontinued model about six years ago. I love it!!! This is the best machine I've ever owned. It does soo much and is a real workhorse.

I have sewn costumes for our school, clothes for my grandchildren, crafts, and repaired/altered clothes with it; I have sewn roman shades (with Warm-Window technology), valances, curtains, and pillows! It does it all! I was employed by a uniform company to sew badges onto their customers'

uniforms... needless to say, it has paid for itself several times. It is the best purchase, or any kind, I've ever made. My Honda CR-V is a close second!

Don't buy any computerized sewing. If it malfunctions it cannot be fixed even by the company. After a charge of $500. + shipping, it never worked right and the machine was bought new for $2,800 not including 7% state tax. Buyer beware!

I have gone without a machine for 10 years because this purchase put me in the poor house.

hiya, i have a brother pe 150 that only does 4x4 and i love it. it's so easy to use. i also have a pfaff 2170 with a large embroidery area and a hoop to split the embroidery down into segments and can therefore do even larger embroideries. i bought this machine just over a year ago and had problems with it. it has been repaired a few times for silly problems i call this tweaking a new machine. it's working fine at the moment. look around and go to a few demos and see what's out there. they really are amazing these days. read the reviews on new machines and not only the good ones, see what we say about them after we have used them for a while. good luck helena.
