How To Work With This Antique Model

Do you own a Kenmore 1350 sewing machine? If you do, then you're one of those people who get lucky to get a taste of the superior quality of Kenmore.

This company has been around for several years, providing every American family an opportunity increase their way of life.

This is because Kenmore products are very practical, affordable, yet truly helpful in making common but tedious household chores a lot more convenient.

A good example of this is the Kenmore 1350 sewing machine. The 1350 model has been manufactured a long time ago, but because of the quality of its parts, you can still find it in excellent condition.

For those who couldn't remember anymore on how to work with the 1350 model from Kenmore, or for daughters and youngsters who have received one but are clueless on how they are going to run it, here are tips for you:

How to Wind the Bobbin

Kenmore 1350 sewing machines may require manual manipulation of the bobbin. The first thing you need to do is to release the sewing machine's clutch, which can be accomplished when you pull the hand wheel.

You can then draw the thread from its spool and wind it in the bobbin tension disc. Pull the thread's end through the bobbin's hole. Next, push to the far left side the bobbin winder shaft. You can then place into the shaft your bobbin.

Make sure that the thread's end is passing above the bobbin. Then, you gently push the winder shaft of the bobbin to the right. You know that you have done it correctly when you can hear a clicking sound. Hold the thread.

You can then start the sewing machine. If you hear the thread that you're holding snaps, don't worry. You will know that you have already filled your bobbin with the thread because it will stop turning.

In order for you to remove the bobbin, you try to push the shaft towards the left. So you can resume with your stitching position, push the hand wheel in and then remove the bobbin.

How to Remove the Bobbin from the Shuttle

Before you can remove the bobbin from the shuttle, you need to raise the needle to its highest position. For you to do that, you need to rotate the hand wheel towards you.

Next, you remove the sewing machine's extension table from its place. You can complete it by just pulling the table towards the left. You can then open the cover of the shuttle.

The bobbin case has an open latch and you need to open it before you can get the shuttle from the bobbin case. Once you have released the latch, you can just simply disattach the bobbin from its case.

There are a lot of manuals that are already sold and which you can find at SewUSA for example. With a very small price, you will have your guide in properly working and taking care of your Kenmore 1350 sewing machine.
