Kenmore Computerized Sewing Machine with 110 Stitch Functions - Model# 19110

by Joelle
(Glendora, CA, USA)

My husband bought me the Kenmore computerized 110 stitch sewing machine as a surprise Christmas gift. He researched online and asked the opinions of our sewing friends who all approved of this machine. It costs around $260 from Sears.

There are few buttons. Each stitch type has a default width and length but you can adjust those settings. The different stitches are all labeled on the front panel of the machine with the corresponding foot to use with each.

There is a lever that allows you to set the max speed of the machine which I found handy. If I have it on slow and accidentally step too hard on the pedal, the fabric doesn't race out of control. But of course, the speed is otherwise controlled by the metal pedal. It sews pretty quietly which is nice.

Also, when you wind the bobbin, it senses it and automatically goes into "wind the bobbin mode." The reverse stitch button is conveniently located near the sewing area so I can press it and guide the fabric at the same time. There is a built in needle threader but not a thread cutter. There is a slot to hold a spool of thread vertically if need be. There is also a button hole foot and three different button hole stitches.

The manual says the machine does not need oiling but I don't know... I think eventually some of the moving parts may need oil, right?

This is my first sewing machine. Before this I borrowed my parents Singer and my mother in law's Kenmore (that she's owned and used for 25 years!). I highly recommend the Kenmore 110 stitch computerized machine to anyone who wants an affordable, easy to use machine with a good variety of stitch options.
