My Sewing Table in My Kitchen!!!

My Sewing Table in My Kitchen!!!

I have only been sewing since October 2009..and the Kenmore 385-15343 was my first purchase of a sewing machine and I only paid $79.88. I've been happy with the machine and have made several projects with it.

You can purchase additional foots for the machine to expand your possibilities. I've been told that the same company that manufactures Janome Sewing Machines also manufactures the Kenmore Sewing Machines. It's a basic machine and good for a beginner like me and you definitely can't beat the price.

I found out that Sears has been making the Kenmore Brand Name Sewing Machines since 1913 and they were right up there in popularity to Singer Machines. I figured if they've been selling sewing machines that long...they must be good at it...they still carry these machines in their retail stores.

The manual is easy to follow and you can even go on E-bay to purchase "Sears original videos on Sew It Up"... projects for the beginner. This machine is well worth the money and an excellent buy!

hello lia, i'm so happy that you are happy with your machine and getting into a bit of sewing. i have been doing it for 40 odd years and love it. it is so relaxing. the time just drifts by when i am in my sewing room. i hope you have many happy hours learning. and don't overtax the machine with big bulky sewing like quilting. learn the potential of the machine. you will want an embroidery next.

This is a lousy sewing machine. Every time I start to sew some part falls off. Had to order new thumb screw within a short time of using this machine. The screw was stripped and so when I took it off would not screw back in.

Today I started putting in zipper and now the foot holder will not hold the pressure foot. A small screw just fell off as did another small part. Would not recommend this machine to anyone. Has been a pain each time I start to sew. Always having some sort of irritating problem with it. Doesn't seem to be made well.

This machine cost quite a bit and am very sorry I didn't go with another name brand.
