Nelco Precision Zig Zag

Nelco Precision Zig Zag

I inherited the Nelco Precision Zig Zag sewing machine, had it serviced, and don't know how to thread it (once I remove the testing strip).

I can't find a model number anywhere on the machine, but I'm including a picture. If I can get a manual, I'm planning to donate the machine to a group that teaches sewing to women in Appalachia.

I already have a Singer and don't need the machine! Thanks for your help.

Threading your Nelco
by: Missy

I can tell you how to thread your Nelco - it's pretty simple.
Place spool on spool pin, with the thread coming from the back of the spool. Draw thread through the top thread guides. Holding spool stationary with right hand, pull the end of thread between the tension discs on the thread tension dial. Pull the end of the thread taut with left hand. This will pull the spring wire up (on the tension dial) and past the end of the hook. The thread will then slip into the hook when the spring is released. Release the spool of thread and put the thread into the hole in the take-up lever and down into the thread guides. The thread passes through the needle front to back. Also, when putting the bobbin in to the bobbin holder, the bobbin thread should - when you pull the thread end - spin clockwise.
