old Bernina 730

I bought my Bernina 730 40 years ago. I have loved it.

The only problem for me now, is that Bernina no longer manufactures parts for it.

I would be interested in anyone's comments on the old Bernina 830 and 930, they seem to be in big demand.

I wonder about the status on parts for these machines.

My local Bernina dealer can fix even the oldest machines and has a huge inventory of parts. They will take old Berninas for trade in on a new one or even a used one from their inventory, even if your machine needs repairs. Google "Hinkletown Sewing Machine Shop", located in Northern Lancaster County PA and give them a call. They have been a #1 or a top 5 dealer in the country for decades. I have NO affiliation ;) just a satisfied customer.

Bernina 730 (older model)

I have always wanted to have a Bernina sewing machine. But never did have one. Recently we moved to Georgia and my daughter lives in Orlando, Fl. She wanted a sewing machine so I gave her mine which was a Kenmore, it was a pretty good sewing machine.

I and my husband watched on E Bay and found an older Bernina 730 so we bought it. I love it. It works very well. I am making some things to sell on Etsy's shop on the internet.

I really hope that I will be successful. I love Bernina sewing machines. And would recommend them to anyone who is looking for one.

I have the Bernina 730 sewing machine that was given to me by a lady that I did house cleaning for and I love it.I have made quilts and my girls clothing on it. it sews better than the singer that I gave my daughter.

I have used my Bernina 730 continually since I purchased it new in December 1965, shortly after I was married. It has never missed a beat and I absolutely love it. My aircraft-engineer husband has kept it regularly oiled, and the only repair it has ever needed was to a fraying power cord. I have never been tempted to 'upgrade' - it does everything I need, beautifully. Thanks, Bernina!
