Pfaff 7570 with Embroidery Unit

Absolutely love my Pfaff 7570 both for the embroidery and sewing functions.

I have owned this machine for 13 years and have never had a problem.

In fact in the 13 years I have only taken my machine back to be repaired twice, and both times, I had done something stupid to cause the repair.

The Pfaff 7570 machine is quiet and still has functions I have yet to explore.

Help finding a new Pffaf 7570
by: Lillian Pereira

I love my Pfaff 7570 sewing machine. It both embroiders and sews very well. At the moment I am devastated because he small motor timing belt is broken and I live in Sri Lanka were there are no Pfaff dealer i have not been able to find it here after searching all over.

Is there anybody out there who could help me to find from where I could order this? I am only half alive without my beloved 7570.

Pfaff 7570
by: Shawn Colony

The Pfaff 7570 is an awesome sewing machine. I've had it around 10 years. I have sewn everything from Opera costumes to leather fetish gear. Yes, this pretty machine will sew through leather. Easy to use, and I've never had a problem with it.

Parts are expensive. My bird chewed up the cord on the control foot and I am looking for a replacement. I've found them from $85-$185. For a piece of plastic and a cord. About $2 in materials. That is my only complaint.

It Purrs
by: wlg

Just looked at the sales slip (stapled into the front of the manual) for my 7570 - it's 9 years old. It just purrs - very quiet (and powerful) motor (compared to Janome 6600).

I was setting up my machine at a Pfaff Club at my dealers, and she commented - almost wistfully - you have a great machine there.

I like sewing on this machine. I like that many feet can use the top feed (IDT in Pfaff-talk). I have a second bobbin case that I use for heavier or thinner thread - so that I can have one set for regular sewing and one that I can play with the setting on

In general it's not too finicky about thread, although when making thread bowls I did manage to shred a metallic such that it wrapped around the take-up lever. Through the magic of the internet I found out how to take off the top - not just the flip-up lid, but the whole top plate - so that I could remove the shredded thread.

I also have the embroidery unit - did an embroidery for a Mother's Day card. Initially, I put Bottom Line thread in the bobbin, but it seems the machine didn't like it - I had a tough time adjusting tension, and the top thread kept breaking.

Buttonholes are not the best - one leg is sewn forward and the other backwards. Generally need to adjust the balance to get them to look even

Pfaff 7570
by: Wendy

I bought my Pfaff 7570 not long after they were 1st out back in about '97. I wasn't able to figure out the custom software package available at the time. Seemed simple enough in the class but once home, didn't have the same ease. Tension tends to be touchy especially during embroidery.

We had to build a special cable to link into our newer computers since USB was not popular back then and CD wasn't either. Software was on 31/2 inch floppy which we converted to CD to keep current for use. There doesn't seem to be upgrades available which is sad since we all paid $3500 for the machine and then another $800 (if I remember right) for software/embroidery hoop package. An investment that large that is pretty much obsolete only 13yrs or so later.

I will say that as a regular machine, when the tension works right it sews beautifully, clean even stitches. All the upgraded features as the needle threading, specialty feet (came standard and store on board), dual walking foot, etc. are wonderful and have spoiled me. Today's machines are soooo much easier to use I find it hard not to look to since my embroidery efforts failed so miserably even though the machine has the capability.

This user just doesn't have the touch and skill to use this model to it's limits. I still revert to heming on my grandmother's old 1976 Kenmore that is not touchy and doesn't take me extra time.

Pfaff Creative 7570
by: Anonymous

My Pfaff Creative 7570 circuit board also went out. It would work then go blank. I would not use it a few months and it would start up again. This went on a few times but now it doesn't work. I am very distraught that I was told by two local dealers that there are no replacement parts for the electronic problem. A $2400.00 machine that can't be fixed. That's crazy not to be able to fix a sewing machine.

Pfaff isn't owned by the original German company anymore - it's owned by a Swedish company now so maybe they don't have an interest in keeping replacement parts available for machines manufactured before they bought the company. I use my 1974 mechanical Pfaff 237 now. It works like a charm - and it can still be fixed. I plan to look into whether or not an electronic repair person could refurbish the circuit board.

I'd rather spend a few hundred dollars for a repair than replace the entire machine. If anyone has suggestions for alternative ways to repair these early electronic machines, I would be very appreciative.

I love my 7570
by: Judy

I love my 7570! I have an old dell computer that I use for tranferring designs to my creative fantisy card. The 7570 is limited in embroidery size to the 4" designs, but it embroiders beautifully and I have learned to work around the size limitation. I have dabbled in digitizing with the creative fantisy software, but find that most everything I need design wise is available on the internet at a reasonable cost. I find I only use the software to transfer designs.

The 7570 is a workhorse. I make quilts and the IDT is invaluable. All in all I love this machine and dread the day when some part goes that I can't replace. I have read about all the problems the newer pfaff embroidery/sewing machines have and I wouldn't trade my 7570 for any of them!

Transferring embroidery Designs NEW
by: Anonymous

I have recently acquired a used Pfaff 7570 machine with its embroidery unit. I have yet to experiment with all the embroidery cards, but about 30 came with the machine. I had purchased a couple of embroidery designs, but am at a loss a to how to transfer them to the creative card. I have a perfectly new card that had never been used. Can anyone help me as to what connections I need? I also have an older Dell computer.

First of all you need the software to transfer designs to the Pfaff 7570. The software is PC Designer and any version will work. You can occasionally find this software on Ebay for a reasonable price. Some try to extract a fortune from you for this software but be patient, you should be able to find it for under $50. It comes on a floppy disk and if you have an older Dell you probably have a floppy disc reader. If not you can purchase a floppy disc reader that will plug into your usb port, or borrow one from a techy friend.

You do need the cable and I am at a loss to tell yoyu what the cable is called and where it hooks up into the back of your dell. The other end needs to plug into your sewing machine when you want to make transfers to from your hard drive to your disk in your machine. You store a limited amount of designs on a card, but thru the software you can erase them and put other designs onto the card. Remember, these designs will still be sitting on youyr harddrive if you want to reload them again, however don't ever erase designs on a card that has been purchased with designs already on it. You need a blank card to use for transferring designs. These are available on ebay. The embroidery cards that pfaff made with selective designs on them are still available on ebay, but unfortunately are still very pricey.

As far as the cables are concerned, I would also do a search on ebay for pfaff 7570 and see if any are available. Otherwise check all pfaff 7570 information threads online and somewhere you will find the configuation necessary for this cable. (ie: what kind of end is needed to plug into the machine and what kind of end is needed to plug into your computer.

Sorry I can't help you more... I am not that techy. Good luck with finding what you need.
