Problems with Pfaff customer service

Frankly, I do not think much of Pfaff and its company.

At lease they could furnish an e mail customer service address so that a person who spent their money for their products can contact them.

There is no dealer any where near where I am so do not tell me to contact a dealer. If I had an e mail address for one I would contact them.
Thank you.

My review is not very good, I know other people who have Pfaff products and their experience is the same as mine.

Thanks cpsmiller@decaturtel.net

Pfaff and Viking
by: randysvh

I am sorry that you were unable to reach Pfaff. Their email is pfaff@pfaffusa.com. Both Pfaff and Viking are essentially the same products and come from the same factories. I know this does not make your product any better, but hopefully that email address will give you some help.

NO MORE PFAFFS FOR ME!
by: Anonymous

I have a 6230 Pfaff that I've had 10+ years and I should have gotten my money back 2 weeks after I bought it. The tension was off and when they took it and adjusted the tension it was dropped and the bottom has 2 cracks in it. Of course they deny any wrong doing. At that time I contacted Pfaff customer service and I never heard a word back from them. This past weekend it quit sewing-will do nothing and the guy that looked at it told me that it is the main board that went out and he can't get Pfaff parts-I HAD to go to a Pfaff dealer. I called J & R in Bismarck,ND to get an estimate on the part and he told me that he did not have access to that information. That is crap............. I emailed a dealer in another state and had the info in a few minutes.
Do you think that I have kept this quiet-
I do relize that I'm just 1 peon in your chain of thousands of satisfated customers-so you really don't care that I will never buy another Pfaff and will tell anyone I know looking to buy-don't buy a pfaff. Here in ND we are stuck between a rock and a hard place anyway because J & R has the market on the Pfaff dealerships. So anyone reading this looking at a Pfaff-look at something else please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pfaff
by: Anonymous -1

pfaff@pfaffusa.com is of no help. If you never get an answer or any information on where to get help on the product/products you own and need repair.
The person in ND who found a dealer in another state, what state was it? The only communication I have had is from HR ad of Pfaff for employees which said_ we will forward you complaint-request to the proper place in Pfaff- have had no results yet.

Nicholas - if you have waited 2 yrs do expect to get a main board. I am told that on the older Pfaffs Mid-late 90's made until the 200? series that new boards are not availale but have to be reworked, I assume hy some Pfaff dealer, if you can find one. In the hear future I am supposed to have the telephone no. and name of a dealer who reworks the main boards. I am sure you will have to send the board to this place for reworking and I understand it is around $400.00. I understand thare are some cars that the "mind" on goes out and there are no new ones available and the "mind' has to be sent to some place in Florida to be reworked, the cost of which I have been told is about $400.00. Inventions are great but companies should keep some things so that when purchased the purchaser can get it fixed. No body would want a broken machine with charges like $550.00 to get the board so the machine will work. When and if I am successfull in getting the name of thedealer who reworks boards, I will advertise it.

Problems with Pfaff Expression 2.0
by: V. Miller

I purchased the Pfaff Expression 2.0, 6 months ago. It would not sew when I brought it home and things have gone down-hill from there. The dealer after telling me that I would have to buy parts, doesn't know me and head office won't call back. Out of desperation I have taken it to another dealer. I will be paying for repairs, parts are under warranty but labour will be out of my pocket. Still waiting to sew.

i hate the pfaff 1530
by: Anonymous

This is the worst thing that I have bought! EVER!! It is a $900 machine that gets stuck or jammed EVERY TIME THAT I USE IT. The pfaff factory wanted me to pay both ways to get it repaired since we moved out of the area from the dealer. I have talked to the dealer about how to use it correctly and I swear up and down that I am following the steps to the letter. A machine that cost so much should be that temperamental. I will never buy one again and I suggest that you not either!

7570
by: Anonymous

i live in Puerto Rico and we were left without
maintenace and repair service for our Pfaff
7570 machines. Mine is just 7 years old and
I have never been able to communicate the machine with my PC because the program it uses is Window 95.
What are we suppose to do.?? Is there a way we can upfrade this machine or do I have to purchase another brand and lose my investment of almost $3,000.

pfaff
by: helena llewellyn south wales uk

hiya, before i bought my pfaff 2170 i checked that it was compatible with my computer system. i saw this as common sense, as there is no point in paying all that money for a machine and finding that you can't use it. shoulda took it back straight away.

I will NEVER buy a Pfaff again
by: Anonymous

My husband spent $800 on a Pfaff 3.0. I have never had so many problems with finicky adjustments, thread bunching, breaking and ridging as I have with this machine. I will ensure that anyone I know who is interested in a machine will NOT purchase a Pfaff. I'd rather go back to my Walmart brand. Seriously.

pfaffed off with pfaff
by: helena llewellyn

hiya maybe we all should write letters to the boss of pfaff personally addressed to him and see what happens. if he is bombarded by sackfulls of letters from unhappy customers something might be done about the junk that is being sold to us. does anyone know the actual address for pfaff in germany and the name of the boss, if so please post it on and i will write the first letter. i will be scanning the net for the info myself. all of us should do this as a matter of urgency. and lets see how decent pfaff is then. we have let these horrors get away with ripping us off for far too long. we want justice.

I have found a technician who can fix it, but they wont send the part that is needed. If I ship the machine, the cost of the shipping will be so much , Will I have a guarentee that the sewing machine will be fixed or will it gets to its destinywithout getting harmed?

Pfaff customer service STINKS - Pfaf is dealer friendly only
by: Anonymous

I purchased my coverlock 4872, went back to work full time and have never used it until now. This model has been discontinued, can't figure out the crummy diagrams in their so-called "manual", the pressure foot lever is jammed - totally frustrated with the confusing threading and the poor photo diagrams in the manual. NO MORE PFAFF FOR ME!

Warranty issue
by: Melanie

I purchased a low end Pfaff InStyle 1524 machine that was a floor model. The dealer, Sewing In the Carolina's in SC, told me that the machine had been on the floor for 6 weeks, and they had to clearance the machine out. In fact, they were discontinuing carrying Pfaff altogether. The manager assured me that the machine had the full factory warranty.

From the time I brought the machine home, I had problems. I returned the machine the next day and was told they had a no return policy on machines, and was shown the sign on the wall stating the policy. I contested this with my credit card company only end in end having to pay it anyway.

To make a long story short, I contacted the district manager for Pfaff in our area. She informed me that the store that sold me the machine had lost their dealership authorization 2 years prior to selling me the machine. She told me that in good faith, to send the machine to Pfaff, and she would have a technician look at it.
It cost me $30.00 to send the machine in, and when it came back it sewed just fine. Something up inside the housing was bent. I wish I had the information of what was bent, but the paper work is in another location.

Lets see,...???Being that the sewing machine was a floor model machine, could have the machine have been damaged while on the floor? My guess is it was very likely that it was. They were will to trade it for another floor model machine that was $200 more. I really don't think so!!!!

Pfaff..Top Secret!
by: fenderst1

Seems like pfaff machines are like a military secret only accessed by the cia. Try and get any older parts or wiring info for these and you can spend months searching everywhere for nothing. I think they build the models and never make any parts for them. So you buy it and you get out of the door and its obsolete! The prices they charge for them youd think they would come to your house and sew for you.

Pfaff customer service
by: Marlene

This is not a sewing machine review, but commentary on problems dealing with Pfaff as a company.

I purchased my new machine mid-September from Walcott's Sewing Center in Madison, WI. In the middle of October, Walcotts announced that they were closing their store.

Initially, I had occasional problems with the thread cutter not cutting both threads and while using the needle down position the needle would sometimes be up vs. down. Then while using my machine last week the computer said that I had a thread jam under the needle plate.

I removed the plate and there was no jam but the computer would not recognize there was no jam. I e-mailed Pfaff asking what I should do now that Walcott's was out of business.

They indicated I should take the machine to the next nearest authorized dealer which would be 65 to 80 miles away and that PFAFF WOULD NOT COVER LABOR CHARGES UNLESS I TAKE IT BACK TO WHERE I PURCHASED IT. I have repeatedly told them that Walcott's is no longer in business, to no avail.

I took the machine in and was told there are three separate timing issues they need to address in order to fix this machine and that they would try to keep the cost between $145 and $175 (all labor costs).

The warranty on the machine states that all parts and labor would be covered for the first year. There's nothing in writing that states the machine needs to be repaired at the place of purchase.

Pfaff continues to tell me that labor fees will be at my expense regardless of Walcott's going out of business. I have requested that they call me rather than trying to figure this out via e-mail. I haven't heard back from them yet.

The Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 machine was $2500 and it's only a month old. This is not good customer service on Pfaff's part and I hope no one else out there is experiencing this problem.

Poor Customer Relatiosns in ND
by: Teach

I thoroughly agree with Anonoymous who wrote in February of the lack of caring by the 2 Pfaff dealers in Bismarck and Minot. I was going to trade in my old Kenmore 158 on my newly purchased Pfaff Expression 2048. I was going to be a good guy, and left the machine, booklet, large box of all the fittings and cams that came with it. I then changed my mind and decided to keep it, and had them send the machine to their other store in Bismarck for repair, and the Minot store lost everything but the machine. There was no apology, nor any caring. They finally came up with a few odd Singer feet, and said they would do no more. WHAT happened to the items that belonged with my machine? Did they throw all of it out, or sell it, or what?

I agree with others who say they would not buy Pfaff again. My machine is working well, right now, but sounds like an old washing machine. The needle threader worked once, so now I thread by hand, and I do not like the clumsy bobbin insertion. I would much rather have a drop-in bobin type. How I wish I had researched all machines, rather than taking the first one I looked at.

Pfaff select 4. Do not buy. NEW
by: JustNobody

I bought a Pfaff select 4 and it is a piece of junk.
I am a guy that like sowing hat and shirt when I bike in winter. The 130$ Wal-Mart machine I had was way better for the price.

About the Pfaff select 4. Mine would not sow properly unless I used stretch needle. Zigzag points don't work properly and the right side is missing. It skips a lot of stitches and don't stitch well in 4 layer on thin polar fleece.

Because, I know mechanics and I knew the dealer will not want to look at it, I opened the machine. First the timing between the hook and the needle was off. I adjusted it and it started working better.
Specially for 2 layer of fabrics.

It was still skipping stitches. After noticing that the tension was not constant, I noticed that the thread was rubbing against the metal frame. So using a sand paper I made the surface smoother.
It fixed the problem of skipping stitches in 2 and 3 layer of polar fleece. I was still having problems with other type of fabrics such as softshell, but it works better. The hook of top of the needle was also rough and I had to smooth it out so the thread can run smoothly.

This machine does not work well with lower quality thread, Just for the reason , I will avoid it and it is still not sowing well in 4 layer of fabrics.

Because, I opened the machine, I can tell you that it is full of cheap plastics part easy to break.

Stay away from the brand or you will regret.
