Singer 4212 Inspiration

by Audrey Lane
(Lake Worth, Florida, Palm Beach)

I have had this brand new Singer 4212 Inspiration sewing machine for 4 months. I bought it at K-Mart it was good for the first week after that it started clunking and the shuttle is very loose fitting, I was constantly fighting with the tension.

The stitching tension is almost impossible to keep consistent and when it is consistent, it has uneven stitches. Money down the drain... wouldn't buy another Singer, sorry.

Can't even find the model on the Singer parts list at singer internet site that shows just how much quality they offer. I wish they had a buy back plan if I was not a satisfied customer.

The local repair shop offered me $100.00 for my new $211.00 machine including a Kenmore I was dropping off to get serviced and he really did not want it.

warranties and rights
by: helena llewellyn south wales

hiya, if the shuttle is clunking you won't have a constant tension as it is inter-combined. you also have to remember that the cheap machines are nothing more than kids toys really. go back to the shop and ask about the warranty running with it, there might be one if you're lucky but for so little money i doubt it. ask for your money back as you have rights as a consumer. if they give you the run around go to small claims court and get it there. good luck

SINGER 4206/4212 Inspiration.
by: Lillie Roy

I agree with Audrey Lane, money down the drain. Singer shouldn't have made the 4206/4212 machines, the stiching tension is horrible.

SINGER Inspiration 4210
by: Pam Taylor

Bought my SINGER Inspiration 4210 sewing machine about two years ago. Have had several issues with tension. Belt broke and they had it for six weeks to fix it. Cost me 80 bucks. Sewed one item since repair and the bobbin holder popped out. I removed it and the edge is now busted. It is plastic. Can't get anything done. Would not recommend it. On here looking for something I can trust to work. Sewing should not be this frustrating.
