Singer 7470 machine

by Teresa
(Aurtyville, NC)

I use to love Singer. I bought new factory sealed Singer 7470 on ebay. When I received it, one of the plate screw was missing. I used this machine for one day and had to take it to my local sewing machine repair shop. Because I bought it on ebay, it was not warranty. I had to pay $100.00 to get the machine back working.

Apparently, someone forgot to oil this machine. The tech said that there was no way that I could have oil this machine myself. The auto tension does not work properly. I ended up putting a piece of tape over the auto tension so It would not move. So, far I have spent over 450.00 dollars on this machine. I must of got a lemon. But, I am stuck with this machine. What am I doing wrong?

I know my machines, I have several computerized machines, and this is the only one that has given me trouble, and I have only had it two weeks. Anybody want a machine?

Go Back to eBay
by: Cathy L/AZ

Hi!
Since you bought this machine off eBay, why not file a false ad compliant against the seller. I hope you didn't give a good feeback to the seller. If you aren't happy with the machine and you have a back up for the screw up, you should have no trouble getting your money back. It will take a while but its worth it in the long run. Plus since it turned out to be a bad machine, it will go against the seller. Been there and done that to an eBayer. If you let this go, this seller will do it again to another buyer. Good luck.

Singer sucks
by: Anonymous

I have a new singer only one year old. Have made one quilt on it and done some mending. I've had it serviced once; I hate it. I'm shopping for a husqverna now. No more junk, made in Japan. Singer used to be the best, 40 years ago when I first learned to sew, but now just made in Japan junk to me. Like my grandma used to say, "you get what you pay for". How true.
