Singer Quantum 9910

by Gary
(Scottsdale, Az.)

I am a 65yo guy and sew for a hobby. I had a Singer machine for many years and decided to replace it with something more modern.

Bought one of the cheaper ones and was Very disappointed. The dealer gave me my money back and I bought the Singer Quantum 9910 sewing machine and love it.

It is quiet, fast and has loads of easy to use stitches. Love the automatic needle threader. I sew a lot of stretch materials and it handles these things beautifully.

I cannot say enough good things about this machine.

My machine has major stitch problems size, length, and fancy stitches. The manual does not address these problems and I cannot find the answers on the internet. Please advise how these problems can be fixed. Thank You

Singer Quantum 9910
by: JoAnn

The Singer Quantum 9910 was my first Singer sewing machine and my first electronic machine. It was purchased in 2006. After struggling with this machine for 4 year, I am finally giving up! The Singer 9910 was purchased from an authorized dealer, and has been in the shop at least twice a year since then. This machine jams constantly!

This dealer has the patience of a saint, and every time I brought it in he would work on it and it would be fine for a while. There was no definitive reason that he could find for the jamming problem. One time, however, he did tell me I was using the wrong bobbin. I needed to purchase some new bobbins and looked in the instruction book, but there was no info on bobbin size. I went to the website and the bobbin question was asked and answered. The answer must not have been correct. The size is odd, and only the dealer seems to carry them. I basically cannot us any of the decorative stitches because that will cause almost immediate jamming. I stick to the straight and zig-zag stitches.

Seems sort of crazy to have paid so much for a machine with more features and then not be able to use them. I still have jamming problems even with these stitches, and when I do, I have to wind another bobbin, being careful that it winds evenly. Take the shuttle out, and make sure there are no threads or dust in the area. Put in a new needle, rethread the machine, and pray it won't jam again. Any little thing that is not perfect will cause it to jam.

I know I will NEVER purchase another Singer machine. I may not purchase another electronic machine, but I will research again and again before I buy another.
