Touch and Sew 7466

Perhaps I received a Lemon, but I have had my Singer Touch and Sew 7466 almost a year now and am fed up. It can not sew thick seams or change to different thicknesses. It pulls the material down in the needle cavity.

My automatic threader broke in the 1st week. The Singer 7466 skips stitches and long loopy stitches on underneath side. Then the feed dog locked in the down position.

So I finally had enough and contacting singer about this Lemon. Do not buy.

I bought the singer touch and sew, New, in 1965 in a cabinet, and have used it in all my sewing and did all sorts of alterations on it hemmed jeans, and it is my favorite machine out of 14 to do most of my sewing on, I also have the singer xl-1000 and the singer xl-5000, and 2 singer sergers, the 842 industrial and the 4 spool home serger, only had the belt repaired and the tension on the touch and sew in 45 yrs and I was taught to sew on mom's singer, the treadle that u peddled, she had to wait til my legs grew long enough to reach the peddle. and I was nine yrs old when they got long enough, so you might call me a singer gal, cuz my singers sing!

1965 Singer Touch & Sew

I have an original 1965 Singer Touch & Sew, in the cabinet and was taught to sew on this machine, even how to use all the discs, various chainstitching, embroidering and everything that it does. Wish the new machines were as 'user friendly' as these were!
