Viking Quilt Designer (no embroidery)

by Wonkygirl
(Arizona USA)

Bought the Viking QD when it first came out. Love, love, love the sensor foot system. It is a dream to piece on, no pin puckers or uneven edge at the end of your quilt block.

The foot and feed dogs feed together and sense how thick your fabrics are for perfect auto-adjusting. So easy to quilt a sandwich without the walking foot and sew bindings down, start to finish. Could not do this on a regular stitch machine.

I like the Viking Quilt Designer much that my husband purchased a second back-up QD for me (it was a trade with low hours from a Viking dealer). I paid a fraction of the new price so if you are on a budget look for a used machine. These are work horse machines, no problems after much use.

Love mine too!!
by: Stitcher in Virginia

I got it second hand because I was frustrated with an embroidery machines (another brand) that I had gotten. I got as many of the stitch cards as I could and love using all this on anything I decide to make. I go to Project Linus quilt get togethers at a local quilt shop and love that I can just put in whatever thread that's around and quilt those little blankets together. While a few others are fussing with their machine, I'm happily stitching along.

This machine is a winner. I wish I could get the other stitch cards but as of this fall, they are no longer available. Too bad, this machine is a workhorse.
